Map and directions

Weekly meetings of the Torbay and South Devon Music Centre are held in Torquay Boys' Grammar School and Torquay Grammar School for Girls. The schools are either side of Shiphay Manor Drive, which is off Shiphay Lane, Torquay. There is a car park on the left just after you leave Shiphay Lane.

The information desk is in the hall of the boys' school, on the right hand side of the road about 100 yards from the car park. If you have not visited the Music Centre before, please come here first to make yourself known and find out where the ensembles meet.

From Newton Abbot and Kingskerswell

Take the A380 through Kingskerswell towards Torquay. Turn right at a roundabout into Hamelin Way, towards Paignton and Brixham. At the next roundabout turn left towards Shiphay. After 1 mile, go straight across a mini roundabout. Turn right into Shiphay Manor Drive at traffic lights after another ¼ mile.

From Teignmouth

Take the Torquay road, A379. Turn right into Teignmouth Road (B3199) at the first roundabout after entering Torquay. Turn right at the next major junction into Hele Road, towards Torbay hospital and Newton Abbot. This joins Riviera Way near the hospital; turn left towards the town centre. After 0.4 miles, turn right at traffic lights into Shiphay Lane. Turn left into Shiphay Manor Drive at the second set of traffic lights after about ¼ mile.

From Torquay

Take the Newton Abbot road (A3022). After passing Torre Station, turn left at the next traffic lights into Shiphay Lane. Turn left into Shiphay Manor Drive at the second set of traffic lights after about ¼ mile.

From Paignton and Brixham

Take the Torbay ring road (A380) towards Newton Abbot. At the third roundabaout turn right towards Shiphay. After 1 mile, go straight across a mini roundabout. Turn right into Shiphay Manor Drive at traffic lights after another ¼ mile.

From Totnes

Take the A385 towards Paignton. At traffic lights, turn left onto the Torbay ring road (A380) towards Newton Abbot. At the third roundabaout turn right towards Shiphay. After 1 mile, go straight across a mini roundabout. Turn right into Shiphay Manor Drive at traffic lights after another ¼ mile.

Trains

The nearest railway station is Torre, which has direct services to Newton Abbot, Torquay and Paignton. There are connecting services to all other stations in South Devon. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from Torre Station to the Music Centre.
